Space Contestation in the Tri-Dharma Religious Building (Buddhism, Confucianism, Taoism) in Indonesia

This study examines the contestation of worship space by looking at how three religions: Buddhism, Confucianism and Taoism, occupy in tri-dharma building. paper discusses conceptual, theoretical, historical, contemporary political aspects religions Indonesia Indonesian government has historically encouraged Buddhists, Confucians, Taoists to same space. surveys secondary data on architecture Tri-Dharma houses looks elements each religion are placed buildings this reflects Indonesia. The result research shows that architectural occurs altar room, ornamental, overall building style. which sects dominant peripheral religions. finding implications for importance efforts foster harmony between religious communities one responds dominance builds a more varied places religion.
